What is Collaborative Law?

Collaborative Law is often used when couples divorcing would prefer not to meet together in mediation sessions, yet want to remain out of the courtroom. If this is the case, meeting with a collaborative lawyer can help provide you with the legal help you need so that you are fully informed, and give you your best chances of quickly resolving your matters outside of the courtroom. Individual, hourly legal consultations are available for you if you believe mediation is not an option.

Individual Consulations are right for you if:

  • You do not want to pay a large retainer fee for a lawyer;
  • You do not want to litigate in the courtroom;
  • Your spouse does not want to go to mediation or mediation is not right for you;
  • You want individual legal advice on an hourly basis; and
  • You want to handle most of your case on your own.
